I just wanted to start off by saying thank you! I started your programs in March, I have lost over 50 lbs. since then! I was diagnosed with MS last year, and I am not able to do most exercises, but your Yogilates has been a lifesaver! The main reason I was writting was that I wanted to see if you do any type of franchising? I would love to open one of your studios here. Dear Jonathan,

I have been practicing yoga for 13 years and mat pilates for 2 years. What i found is that pilates was good for strengthening but it didn't give me the deep stretching I need due to a back injury. Yoga was good at stretching but, unless you have an hour and a half a day to devote to it, it isn't the best for strength.
What a relief to finally discover Yogilates and your very fine dvd's. Finally a workout that doesn't feel like a workout. I can start the dvd feeling as if I'll never make it through the first ten minutes and before i know it, the hour is up and im already in corpse pose. You have combined the best of the two disciplines and i am very grateful for that.
Thank you for creating your excellent program. It has greatly improved my strength and flexibility while reducing my stress level noticeably.

You rock!! I just purchased and used your Pilates & The City Intermediate Workout and I could not be happier. I had previously tried to use a competitor's product (Windsor Pilates) but was ultimately disappointed. I ended up giving the DVD's away. Your style of instruction is stellar! And your routine flows better than any others I've been exposed to. There's no 'undo' hype about your program. This truly is the real deal. I got the video and tried it for the first time yesterday. I am thrilled and I wish you the best of luck. Can't wait till the advanced one comes out. I have been working out for the past 7 years, step aerobics, and recently tae bo (which I eventually felt was too aggresive for me). I have a most stressful job and am now trying to get pregnant, and so I was looking for something to relieve my stress and tone my body without all the unnecessary jumping around. Yogilates is it.

Hello,

Dear Jonathan,
I received your video today and I LOVE IT! I am the artistic director of a pre-professional ballet school and company and between teaching and rehearsals I never have time to give myself a workout or a decent class. I am pregnant with our second child and your video is perfect! I needed something more intense than yoga and this is it! Of course, I have to modify some of the ab stuff because I am in my 4th month of pregnancy but I can't wait to do everything full out once I have delivered. I am recommending your classes to some dancers I know in NYC. Thank you and please tell me when the even more advanced video comes out!

YOGILATES HISTORY

Yogilates® was created in 1997 by certified Pilates instructor and personal trainer Jonathan Urla, who became originally inspired to blend his training from Pilates with his practice of hatha yoga after taking a yoga class right after a Pilates session. He found his practice got much easier and he felt better aligned and able to accomplish the poses with more effectiveness because his spine was already warmed up properly and he was connected to his center from the Pilates workout. He saw a need for more effective core strengthening in the discipline of yoga and believed that the Pilates method offered a refined technique that could be integrated into the practice of yoga for this reason. He also believed that yoga had a lot to offer all exercise enthusiasts, including Pilates devotees, because of its’ emphasis on the breath for support and relaxation, and its’ mental focus. He wanted to integrate the two in a fun, accessible, and effective training regimen that would be a complete training system with all the benefits of both Pilates and yoga.

Over the years, Jonathan has used his knowledge of exercise science, proper
alignment, and sound bio-mechanics, to develop a detailed practice with over 300 exercises from beginner to advanced. His book and videos establish a progressive system of learning the functional skills of Yogilates which allows people of all abilities to use the technique to achieve better posture and improved performance in all activities, as well as achieve reduced stress and reduced the risk of injury.

Today, Yogilates® is practiced by thousands who have purchased his videos/DVDs or his book, and he has certified other instructors who teach Yogilates group classes all over the country. Jonathan has taken his workshops around the country and his work is credited with helping to influence the evolution of yoga all over the world.
